The Flyers camp is in a bad spot right now, losing #1 D-man Kimmo Timonen to a blood clot for the rest of the playoffs. This is bad for many reasons, as not only was Kimmo important to the powerplay and offensive break-outs, but he freed up partner Braydon Coburn to shut down whichever star (Crosby most likely) they were paired up against. Now take-away his experience and leadership and replace it with a inexperienced younger player (Parent) or an aging has-been (Modry).

It's safe to say that the Flyers are SERIOUSLY fighting uphill right now.




It almost makes you wish you were a Leafs fan and didn't have to ever worry about getting this deep into the playoffs and stress over injuries.

This is eerily similar to the Leafs situation a few years back -- Dmitri Yushkevich went down with a serious, potentially life threatening blood clot issue. The Tough SOB defensemen tried to get back into the lineup, even offering to sign a waiver that the team wouldn't be liable if anything happened to him.Team doctors refused to let him do it.

same deal with Timonen - then they explained to him how if he jostled it wrong he could lose toes, so he relented a bit
