We've all watched as Chicago has dug themselves into a black pit as far as wide receivers are concerned. They have a nice stable full of #3, and a few #2 receivers but no strong #1 and no deep threat besides the incredibly-inept-at-wide reciever Hester. And the stunning thing is that the Bears coaching is willing to sacrifice the best return man in decades and risk injury by putting him at receiver. He should only be used on a situational basis at that position.

So how do you think the final lineup for the receivers will look?

Here are your choices:

Earl Bennett-rookie, but very good potential to work himself into the rotation early.
Marty Booker-reaching back into the past with him. Hope he still has some left.
Mark Bradley-shows good promise for a #2, but that's about all.
Rashied Davis-like to see him get more playing time.
Curtis Hamilition-rookie, don't know if he will make the team.
Mike Hass-practice squad guy and I doubt he will make the active roster this year.
Brandon Llyod-maybe he will flourish under his old college coach, reunited at long last.
Marcus Monk-rookie, but has some promise. Maybe he'll turn into a Colston.
Brandon Rideau-practice squad guy and that is probably where he will spend his season.

I think Booker gets the #1 designation, Bradley as #2, and then they try and work all the other guys in to see if they can find a good combination. Bennett will be playing alot by the end of the season.

Davis just doesnt seem to have sure hands, there were too many times that balls went right through his fingers last year. I always like Bradley but you are right, he is a number 2 at best and injury prone. I liked Monk and Bennett in college and i am rooting for them to make something of themselves in the pros, so fingers crossed that management knows what they're doing...

Sometimes I just can't trust the Bears management. But Angelo has done a good job of drafting defenisve players. I'll give him that.

And I am pretty excited about Monk, though I'm not really sure why. Maybe because he shares a name with past greatness at that position.

I don't know, maybe things will work out but I don't really care about the bullets when we are having significant problems with the gun.

You know what? The offensive line is still unstable. So Its still a wait and see approach as far how much time Rex Grossman will be able to get from this group. We do have some good recievers.I think the move to bring Marty Booker bsack was smart.I guess they brought him back after seeing how he burned us when he was with Minnisota.

As sad as it is, Booker does seem like the best out of that group and I'm glad they have him. I just really hope they don't plan on using Hester alot as a receiver. I think that would be a big mistake. Situational use is ok with me though. But you are right, if the offensive line doesn't improve it probably won't matter who the recievers because the QB won't be able to get him the ball.
