On a recent "Jim rome is burning" Steve Smith was brought up. His wife gave Smith tckets to the Cubs game as a present for his B-day. Smith loves to go to famous ballparks. As soon as the team found out that smith was coming they asked him to throw out the first pitch in that game (padres- cubs). Smiths reaction: "I was just going as a spectator," Smith said, "and they want little ol' me to throw out the first pitch. It's just awesome.".
Cubs just recently invited romo as yuo may know and now smith. The same smith who burned the Chicago Bears D in the 06 playoffs with 12 catches, 208 yards, and 2 td's.

I think people forget at times that Steve Smith is the most explosive WR in the NFL

oh yeah he just needs a consistent QB. Last year Panthers had QB problems: 4 diferent QB's started

so i wonder where you rank smith in terms of all the receivers in the league

he gets knocked at times for being on a team with mediocre qb's, and being the only receiving option on the team

Hmm...see everytime i throw a list together i make it a little different, not on purpose but i think its b/c the top 10 receivers in the league are probably interchangeable.

I would say:

1.) Randy Moss
2.) Torry Holt
3.) Larry Fitzgerald
4.) Terrell Owens
5.) Reggie Wayne
6.) Chad Johnson
7.) Steve Smith
8.) Marques Colston
9.) Anquan Boldin
10.) Plaxico Burress

If Steve Smith could get some consistency out of the QB position he could probably move up closer to 3 but its hard to judge...still, 7th is pretty damn solid!

i have to agree with the majority of that list. however, i can't see fitz in the top 3. especially with the reasoning that you have given for keeping smith out of the top 3, the same would have to go for fitz. i am a strong believer that boldin is a better wr than fitz. just a personal opinion, but boldin's YAC puts him above him for me. also, i was surprised and glad to see holt at #2. i mean, the guy still had over 1,000 yards last year with a broken ribbed bulger and a washed up frerrotte throwing to him

with that said, i can't really argue smith being better than any of the people in front of him. however, for personal preference, with his leaping ability making up for his lack of height, and his playmaking ability, i would rather have him on my team than TO, and CJ

See im a huge believer in Fitz, i always overrated him (admittedly) and i just think he can be freakin special. Same with Boldin though, except i dont overrated him.

The thing i love abt TO, and i liked TO his entire career not just b/c he's a Cowboy now, is his ability to do EVERYTHING. He can run any route, he has unbelievably strength, great vision, can beat you deep, and isnt afraid to go over the middle (the only guy ive seen him afraid of is Sean Taylor).

Torry Holt could honestly finish his career as a top 3 WR ever...seriously.
