I know Weaver is way down and Volquez is way up but is this a fair trade? Or is Weaver going to continue to suck and is Volquez going to continue to perform?

thanks for the advice. I have weaver, and was offered volquez for him. tough decision for me, since I've had weaver since the beginning of last year, and he hasn't done crap this year.

Volquez for the long haul. The Reds are using him and Cueto as their foundation in the rotation, and even if he slips a bit, he will outdo Weaver in K's. Of course I don't know how important that is in your league.

It's a head to head league, 1.5 points for SO, only .5 per out

I just traded for Volquez in one of my keeper leagues. I gave up too much, but in the long run I think I did ok and helped my team. Having your confidence helps mine.

Volquez???!!! The guy's had what 5 quality starts and you wanna ride him into the sunset now? You probably picked him up off the waivers and have him on your fantasy team and hes saving your ass. That doesn't mean he can turn water into wine. Remember a guy named ZACH DUKE who dominated his first year. Look at him now...

Jared Weaver went 11-2 his first year in the majors. He's a consistent pitcher who sees to always WIN ballgames. Weaver over Volquez is a no brainer.

Why? You just said that Zack Duke dominated in his first year, but you're willing to back someone else who did the same thing?

HA, I just read your "NL Cy Young post..."

Jake Peavy, Brandon Webb, Carlos Zambrano.
You are an absolute idiot if you really think Volquez should be even mentioned with these three guys... I would take Tim Lincecum over Volquez every day all day.

Solely on this year; you mean through the first month.

Edison Volquez is the Gil Meche of last year. He's off to a hot start. Not to mention Chris Shelton who hit like 10 home run in the first month a couple years ago. Where'd he end up at the end of the year? The all star team? No the minor leagues.

I don't have Volquez, I want him and needed to know if I would have to offer more than just Weaver for him.
