	Young, who bruised his hand on Thursday, left the team facilities on Friday with it taped. Coach Jeff Fisher was vague and avoided answering any detailed questions about it. We'll have to wait for the official injury report next week to know how serious the injury is.

	The Titans aren't saying much about Young's injured right hand, but coach Jeff Fisher said the quarterback was doing well. Young bruised his throwing hand in the first half of Thursday night's 23-21 preseason finale win over Green Bay, and he didn't return for the first series of the third quarter as originally planned. His right hand was taped as he left the Titans' offices on Friday. "We'll have a full injury report for you (next) Friday," Fisher said. "He'll be designated as whether he practiced or did not practice. At this point, I would expect he would practice."

	The Panthers acquired McCown from Miami on Friday for a 2009 late-round draft pick. McCown will backup Jake Delhomme, who is returning from ligament-replacement surgery in his right elbow. McCown, a former third-round pick of the Cardinals, saw his most action in 2004, when he started 13 games for Arizona and passed for 2,511 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He has thrown 35 touchdowns and 40 interceptions in his career.

	The Patriots cut Colvin on Thursday. NFL teams have to have their 53-man rosters set by Saturday. Colvin had 27 tackles, four sacks and three forced fumbles last season.

Manning, who underwent knee surgery in July, was activated Tuesday and went through a pregame workout with the team before the final preseason game Thursday night. He said he felt fine after the pregame routine Thursday night.

As expected, there's been a lot of drama and skepticism surrounding Manning's knee after he had surgery to remove an infected bursa sac. In the end though, it sounds like the message is still the same as it's been since day one; that Manning won't miss any time.

	The NFL has suspended McKinnie without pay for the team's first four regular-season games for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The NFL says McKinnie's suspension begins on August 30th. He is eligible to return to the Vikings' active roster on Monday, September 29th, following the team's September 28th game against the Tennessee Titans. McKinnie has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a street brawl outside a Miami nightclub in February. McKinnie has been the Vikings' starting left tackle for the last 87 games, dating to the middle of his rookie season.
