	Tampa Bay activated third baseman Evan Longoria from the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Don't get your hopes up too soon -- Longoria is only being activated because the Rays have the roster space, and decided they might as well activate him. He won't start until later next week, but could pinch-run and play defense in a few days.

	Johnson will not pitch again this season. The Orioles have decided to take a precautionary approach with his shoulder. He went 2-4 with a 2.23 ERA in 54 appearances this season.

	Longoria felt "almost 100 percent" after taking 30 swings with a regular bat Saturday and the Tampa Bay slugger hopes to take batting practice on Monday. "I don't know how much better it could get," Longoria said. "It felt great today." The third baseman, out since Aug. 7 after being hit by a pitch from Seattle's J.J. Putz, had not swung a bat in four days because of lingering pain in his fractured right wrist. Longoria is hitting .278 with 22 homers and 71 RBIs in 104 games and is considered a leading contender for the AL Rookie of the Year Award. The Rays have lost three of four, and entered Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with a 2 1/2-game lead over Boston in the AL East.

	Haren got shelled on Friday, allowing five runs in four innings against the Dodgers. He walked four and struck out two. What is wrong with Mr. Haren? He's allowed five or more runs in four of his last six starts. He's still 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA, but fantasy owners are relying on him to be their ace down the stretch.

	In his first major league start, Morrow came within four outs of a no-hitter. Yankees pinch hitter Wilson Betemit broke it up with a two-out double in the eighth. Seattle went on to win, 3-1. Still, one run on one hit in your first major league start is extremely impressive. I recommended adding Morrow in my Waiver Prescription, and he showed his stuff last night. Morrow is 2-2 with a 1.42 ERA in 41 appearances this season.

	Olson was scheduled to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's, but Tropical Storm Hanna had other ideas. The teams are expected to play the night game, but it's unknown if Olson will start.

	Crede is not expected to play again this season. Crede hasn't played since Tuesday, after he left the game when his back began to bother him again. Guillen has been frustrated by his unreliability. Juan Uribe will remain as the starting third baseman.

	Rogers will not make his next scheduled start. His hip could use the rest. He's 9-13 with a 5.49 ERA this year.

	Westbrook underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right hip and will be on crutches for four weeks. Westbrook's hip first bothered him during spring training. He flew to Nashville, Tenn., for an examination Thursday and Dr. Thomas Byrd performed the surgery there Friday. The right-hander's season ended in June when he had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. The Indians say the hip surgery is not expected to affect Westbrook's scheduled return to throwing off flat ground around Thanksgiving.

	Sabathia threw seven innings of one-run ball, however bullpen troubles late caused C.C. to not be factored into tonight's decision. Fresh off a "one-hitter" in his last outing against the Pirates, Sabathia followed up with a seven inning, one-run performance that involved just five hits, two walks, along with nine strikeouts. And, not that it matters fantasy-wise, but C.C. also had two hits and an RBI in the game. He's still undefeated as a Brewer (9-0), and has posted a 1.42 ERA in 12 starts.

	In his first game since August 13, Lowell went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBI in part of an 8-1 Boston win. Well, Lowell is evidently healthy. He blasted a solo home run in the third, followed by a two run-single in the fourth and an RBI-double in the top of the ninth. Hopefully Lowell can continue hitting at a high level for the remainder of the season, and eventually the playoffs if the Red Sox make it, as Boston will definitely need him. He's hitting .275 with 15 homers and 71 RBI.

	In Beckett's return from the disabled list, he shutout the Rangers over five innings to pick up his 12th win of the year. It was believed that Beckett, facing the Rangers in Texas, would last just about three or four innings with the offense that was expected. However, Beckett pitched phenomenal, allowing just four hits, no walks and struck out seven. Beckett faced only three batters over the minimum 15, and looked great. He's 12-9 with a 4.20 ERA on the year.

	Buerhle pitched six innings of scoreless ball to help get past the Angels Friday night 10-2. Buerhle allowed three hits, two walks, and struck out seven. He came into this game having allowed at least five runs in his past three starts, so throwing a solid outing like this was probably great for both Mark and the Sox. He improves to 12-11 and his ERA drops below 4.00 (3.98) once again. And, not that it's of any importance, but three home teams won 10-2 tonight, and five scored double digit runs.

	Uribe went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI Friday night as the White Sox destroyed the Angels 10-2. Uribe, who isn't known for his power by any means, had it going tonight. He blasted a two-run homer off Halos' Dustin Moseley in the bottom of the second, and followed that up with another off Darren Oliver in the third. Uribe is hitting just .241 out of the nine-hole this year, and has seven home runs and 33 RBI. Not really a fantasy option anywhere right now.

	Liriano held the Tigers to just two earned runs over seven innings to pick up his fifth win of the year. Liriano surrendered five hits, two walks and struck out nine. Since returning to the majors, Liriano has been great, going 5-0 in seven starts while posting a 1.44 ERA. Due to an extremely rough start, Liriano is 5-3 with a 3.33 ERA overall this season. He could be the piece that puts the Twins over the top into the playoffs.

	Young finished 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI as the Twins rolled over the Tigers 10-2. Young drove in one with an RBI-double and another on the solo home run. Despite the homer being just his ninth on the year, and only 61 RBI, Young has been a solid player in the middle of the Twins lineup all season long. He's been pretty consistent, hitting .289/.335/.403, scored plenty of runs and stolen 14 bases. The best part about it all is that he's only 22. The Twins have a star in the making with Young, so hopefully they hold on to him for as long as possible.

	Thames went 2-for-3 with two home runs Friday night, however the Tigers were destroyed by the Twins 10-2 in Minneapolis. Both homers were solo shots, and accounted for the only Tiger runs on the night, as the Twins' Francisco Liriano was lights out once again. Thames is really only good for power surges here and there, and probably shouldn't be owned except on deeper AL-only leagues. He's hitting just .238, and despite having sent 24 flying this year, he has just 49 RBI.

	Bergmann was bombed for seven runs Friday night in just 2.1 innings en route to his 11th loss of the year. He allowed five hits and three walks while striking out just two. Boy has Bergmann been a major disappointment this year, falling to 2-11 with the loss. Washington isn't by any means an offensive force, however 2-11 is unacceptable for any big league pitcher. His ERA is at 5.23 and will face the Marlins next week.

	Jurrjens had a good outing against the Nationals Friday, throwing five innings of one-run ball in a 10-5 win over Washington. Jurrjens let up six hits and three walks while striking out six. It took him 98 pitches to get through five innings however, which isn't a good sign. He improves to 12-9 on the year, while dropping his ERA to 3.54. Jurrjens has posted good enough numbers to receive considerable Rookie of the Year talks this year, and should be solid both down the stretch and for years to come. With the way Edgar Renteria is playing in Detroit, Atlanta completely robbed the Tigers this past off-season.
