	Hernandez limited the Indians to just two earned runs over six innings to pick up the win and halt Cleveland's 10-game winning streak. Despite allowing just two runs, Hernandez didn't look his best, giving up six hits and walking four batters. He did strike out seven, however. Raul Ibanez did all the damage the M's needed, delivering a home run and driving in all three of Seattle's runs. King Felix improves to 9-8 with a 3.27 ERA on the year.

	Volstad held the Mets to one run over six and a third innings, however Kevin Gregg couldn't hold the Mets off in the ninth inning, allowing a grand slam to Carlos Beltran, leaving Volstad with a no-decision. The once former top prospect Volstad let up just five hits and three walks while striking out five. His ERA fell to 3.20 on the year, but he remains with just four wins on the year. In his first year in the bigs, Volstad has proven to be a solid commodity not only to the Marlins, but to fantasy teams that went out and got the rookie from free agency. He'll play the Braves next time around.

	In his first start since coming of the disabled list, Martinez went 1-for-3 with a single and run scored, however the Indians couldn't keep their 10-game win streak up, as they fell to the Mariners. V-Mart also walked in the game. He singled in the eighth inning and was shortly replaced by a pinch-runner. Expect him to sit tomorrow's day game, as Cleveland surely don't want to rush back one of their star players, especially when they have really no chance of making the playoffs this year. He'll slowly get back into the swing of everyday at-bats, but not immediately.

	Volquez was roughed up for eight hits and six earned runs Friday night, however he still somehow came out of the game with a win as Cincinnati defeated the Giants 11-7. Volquez lasted five-plus innings, walked three and struck out six. Luckily for him he leaves Friday night with one positive, that being his 16th win on the year. Because otherwise, the night was a disaster. The Giants' bats were clicking Friday, tagging Volquez for one of his worse outings of the year. The outing raised his ERA above 3.00 for the first time this year, so we can't complain too much. In his first full season as a starter, Volquez is 16-5 with a 3.04 ERA.

	Despite lasting just five-plus innings Friday night, Kazmir got the job done, holding the Orioles to zero earned runs in a 14-3 win. It took Kazmir 102 pitches to get through the five and a third innings, so Joe Maddon pulled his ace from the game. Kazmir let up just three hits, but walked three and only struck out five. As of late, Kazmir has had issues with control, but has still maintained a very solid 139:55 K:BB ratio this year. He's 10-6 with a 3.13 ERA on the year.

	Cliff Floyd had his biggest game of the year for the Rays Friday night, going 3-for-4 with five RBI in a 14-3 rout over Baltimore. Floyd provided the Rays with two doubles and a single that drove in enough runs to cover the game himself. However, the rest of Tampa wanted to get in on the action, as Ben Zobrist drove in four runs and Carlos Pena drove in two runs among many contributors to the Rays' offense. Despite numerous injuries, the Rays have continued to keep their poise, and lead in the American League East. If you still aren't sold on them, now is the time, because this team is a legit World Series contender.

	Campillo was roughed up Friday night against the Nationals, lasting just 3.2 innings, while giving up five earned runs to take the loss. Campillo couldn't get it going at all early, giving up eight hits and three walks which led to the five runs. He falls to 7-7 on the year, and his ERA shoots up from 3.37 to 3.61. Over Campillo's past five starts, he's let up five runs four of the five times, and hasn't lasted more than seven innings in any of them. All of which have shot his ERA from 2.58 up to 3.61. Hopefully he can get things under control.

	Berkman had just one hit on Friday night, however, the hit was a solo shot that helped the Astros walk-off the field with a 3-2 win. Berkman finished 1-for-4, but his hit was the biggest of the game for Houston, who won it on a walk-off homer from Berkman in the bottom of the ninth. Though his average has significantly lowered from May when he was hitting close to .400, Berkman has been a beast in all categories this year. He's hitting .333 with 27 home runs, 94 RBI, 100 runs and 15 stolen bases.

	Miner won again Friday night, pitching six innings of one-run ball in a win over the Royals. Miner let up six hits, one walk and just one earned run while striking out two. The win boosts Miner to 8-4 on the year, and in the time he's been with Detroit, he's proven to be their #1 or #2 starter this season, regardless of his position on the depth chart. He's posted a 3.46 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 88-plus innings this year. At this point, if you need pitching help, he's a solid pickup in your league.

	Beltran had a big day at the plate Friday night, providing a grand slam that won the game for the Mets 5-4. He finished the night with two hits and five RBI to go with the 9th inning blast. Heading into the inning, the Mets were down 2-1, a deficit that was quickly erased by one swing of Carlos' bat. He's been pretty hot lately, going 9-for-21 with three home runs his past five games. Beltran is hitting .275 with 20 homers and 91 RBI this year.

	Dice-K threw a gem Friday night despite not even being named the game's starter until earlier today. Matsuzaka went eight strong innings, surrendering only two hits and two walks, while striking out seven. He didn't let up a single run. Dice-K could have actually imploded in the game if he wanted to and still escape unharmed, being that the Red Sox provided vast run support for the righty, routing the White Sox 8-0 in Beantown. Dice-K is a remarkable 16-2 with a 2.82 ERA at this point, and hopes to improve even more when he faces Baltimore next week.

	Braun was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI Friday night as the Brewers, behind Dave Bush, defeated the Pirates 3-2. The three-run bomb Braun hit in the top of the first was all that Bush needed to get past the Pirates. He's batting .301 with 34 home runs and 95 RBI this season,

	Burnett threw an eight-inning complete game Friday night, however his team couldn't provide enough run support to defeat the Yankees, as Toronto fell 2-1 to the Bronx Bombers. Burnett was tagged for seven hits and two earned runs, however struck out eight while walking just one. He looked great throughout the start, with the only damage coming in the fourth inning where Bobby Abreu provided an RBI-double, followed by a Jason Giambi sac-fly. Burnett is 16-10 with a 4.48 ERA and will face the Twins next week.

	Pavano looked very good tonight against the Blue Jays, pitching six innings of one-run ball en route to his second win of the season. Pavano was sharp, allowing just three hits and one walk. He struck out one batter. Despite pitching well through six innings, Joe Girardi pulled Pavano from the game after just 72 pitches. This could spell trouble perhaps if Pavano suffered some type of injury during the outing. We'll keep you posted, but as for now, he's listed as fine.

	Hill is scheduled to have his chronically sore right forearm evaluated on Wednesday and will then undergo arthroscopic surgery on his pitching elbow. Hill, who has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 25, was examined Friday in Pensacola, Fla., by orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Dr. Ben Shaffer, a Nationals team physician, said Andrews discovered "bony buildup" behind Hill's elbow ligament and recommended arthroscopic surgery to clean out the joint. Before the surgery, Hill will see Dr. Tom Hunt, a hand and upper extremity specialist, at the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Wednesday. Shaffer said it is hoped the cause of the lingering forearm soreness that has plagued Hill for much of his career can be determined before the operation. Hill was 1-5 with a 5.83 ERA in 12 starts this season.

	The Houston Astros extended the contract of outfielder Darin Erstad through the 2009 season. Erstad will make $1.75 million plus bonuses next season. He was hitting .293 with three homers and 26 RBIs heading into Friday's game against St. Louis. The 34 year old was making his 32nd start in center field and his 53rd start overall.

	The Houston Astros extended the contract of pitcher Brian Moehler through the 2009 season. Moehler will make $2.3 million plus bonuses and his contract also includes a mutual option for 2010. The 36-year-old Moehler is 9-5 with a 3.99 ERA in 25 games for the Astros this season, including 20 starts. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 3.52 ERA since the All-Star break and won five straight outings between July 9 and Aug. 19.

	Fuentes was activated from the bereavement list Friday night. Fuentes was placed on the list on Tuesday, and served the minimal three days before being activated. Fuentes is back earlier than expected, which is a good sign for owners and Fuentes' personal life.

	The Diamondbacks activated Justin Upton from the 15-day disabled list Friday night. Upton isn't in the starting lineup tonight against the Dodgers, but is available to pinch-hit if called upon. Upton has been out since July 8, meaning the D'Backs won't rush him right back into a starting role, especially with their outfield depth. The possibility of moving Mark Reynolds to second base, Chad Tracy to third, Conor Jackson to first and Adam Dunn to left field is out there, which would free up every-day at-bats for Upton. We'll see how it plays out, but for fantasy owners who have held onto him, or went out and picked him up, I'd wait a few days, or even a week or so before plugging him back into your lineup.

	The Dodgers purchased the contract of lefty reliever Scott Elbert from Double-A Jacksonville on Friday after sending rookie Clayton Kershaw to Triple-A Las Vegas. Elbert was 4-1 with a 2.40 ERA in 25 games, including one start, at Jacksonville.
