	Sabathia threw seven innings of one-run ball, however bullpen troubles late caused C.C. to not be factored into tonight's decision. Fresh off a "one-hitter" in his last outing against the Pirates, Sabathia followed up with a seven inning, one-run performance that involved just five hits, two walks, along with nine strikeouts. And, not that it matters fantasy-wise, but C.C. also had two hits and an RBI in the game. He's still undefeated as a Brewer (9-0), and has posted a 1.42 ERA in 12 starts.

	In his first game since August 13, Lowell went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBI in part of an 8-1 Boston win. Well, Lowell is evidently healthy. He blasted a solo home run in the third, followed by a two run-single in the fourth and an RBI-double in the top of the ninth. Hopefully Lowell can continue hitting at a high level for the remainder of the season, and eventually the playoffs if the Red Sox make it, as Boston will definitely need him. He's hitting .275 with 15 homers and 71 RBI.

	In Beckett's return from the disabled list, he shutout the Rangers over five innings to pick up his 12th win of the year. It was believed that Beckett, facing the Rangers in Texas, would last just about three or four innings with the offense that was expected. However, Beckett pitched phenomenal, allowing just four hits, no walks and struck out seven. Beckett faced only three batters over the minimum 15, and looked great. He's 12-9 with a 4.20 ERA on the year.

	Buerhle pitched six innings of scoreless ball to help get past the Angels Friday night 10-2. Buerhle allowed three hits, two walks, and struck out seven. He came into this game having allowed at least five runs in his past three starts, so throwing a solid outing like this was probably great for both Mark and the Sox. He improves to 12-11 and his ERA drops below 4.00 (3.98) once again. And, not that it's of any importance, but three home teams won 10-2 tonight, and five scored double digit runs.

	Uribe went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI Friday night as the White Sox destroyed the Angels 10-2. Uribe, who isn't known for his power by any means, had it going tonight. He blasted a two-run homer off Halos' Dustin Moseley in the bottom of the second, and followed that up with another off Darren Oliver in the third. Uribe is hitting just .241 out of the nine-hole this year, and has seven home runs and 33 RBI. Not really a fantasy option anywhere right now.

	Liriano held the Tigers to just two earned runs over seven innings to pick up his fifth win of the year. Liriano surrendered five hits, two walks and struck out nine. Since returning to the majors, Liriano has been great, going 5-0 in seven starts while posting a 1.44 ERA. Due to an extremely rough start, Liriano is 5-3 with a 3.33 ERA overall this season. He could be the piece that puts the Twins over the top into the playoffs.

	Young finished 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI as the Twins rolled over the Tigers 10-2. Young drove in one with an RBI-double and another on the solo home run. Despite the homer being just his ninth on the year, and only 61 RBI, Young has been a solid player in the middle of the Twins lineup all season long. He's been pretty consistent, hitting .289/.335/.403, scored plenty of runs and stolen 14 bases. The best part about it all is that he's only 22. The Twins have a star in the making with Young, so hopefully they hold on to him for as long as possible.

	Thames went 2-for-3 with two home runs Friday night, however the Tigers were destroyed by the Twins 10-2 in Minneapolis. Both homers were solo shots, and accounted for the only Tiger runs on the night, as the Twins' Francisco Liriano was lights out once again. Thames is really only good for power surges here and there, and probably shouldn't be owned except on deeper AL-only leagues. He's hitting just .238, and despite having sent 24 flying this year, he has just 49 RBI.

	Bergmann was bombed for seven runs Friday night in just 2.1 innings en route to his 11th loss of the year. He allowed five hits and three walks while striking out just two. Boy has Bergmann been a major disappointment this year, falling to 2-11 with the loss. Washington isn't by any means an offensive force, however 2-11 is unacceptable for any big league pitcher. His ERA is at 5.23 and will face the Marlins next week.

	Jurrjens had a good outing against the Nationals Friday, throwing five innings of one-run ball in a 10-5 win over Washington. Jurrjens let up six hits and three walks while striking out six. It took him 98 pitches to get through five innings however, which isn't a good sign. He improves to 12-9 on the year, while dropping his ERA to 3.54. Jurrjens has posted good enough numbers to receive considerable Rookie of the Year talks this year, and should be solid both down the stretch and for years to come. With the way Edgar Renteria is playing in Detroit, Atlanta completely robbed the Tigers this past off-season.

	Bruce went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and four RBI as the Reds smashed the Cubs 10-2. All four of Bruce's RBI came on his first career grand slam in the fourth inning. He added a double and two runs on top of it. As I'm sure you remember, Bruce came into the majors red hot, however significantly cooled off in the months of July and early to mid August. However, Bruce has started to heat things back up again, hitting .400 (8-for-20) over his last six games, with two homers, six RBI and seven runs scored. Despite hitting just .260 in his first major league season, Bruce has shown signs of greatness, which should bode well for those with Bruce in keeper and dynasty leagues.

	Lilly was roughed up Friday night, allowing five earned runs over just two innings as the Cubs were smashed by the Reds 10-2. Lilly gave up four hits and three walks before failing to get out of the third inning. He struck out one. Lilly has had an up-and-down season all year, and this was just another part in that. Coming into the game, he had thrown three straight quality starts. On the year, Lilly is 13-9 with a 4.43 ERA, which isn't really bad for a third starter, but hopefully he can get things together for the post-season.

	Davis hit a grand slam in the eighth inning as part of an 8-run onslaught that helped the A's defeat Baltimore, 11-2. The funny thing about the 11 runs that came in the eighth inning, is that only one hit was recorded -- that being Davis' grand slam. Three Oriole pitchers combined to issue six walks and hit a batter, which totaled four of the eight runs. The other four came off one swing of the bat from Davis, who finished the game with just one hit in one at-bat, but needless to say it was a big one. The first career grand slam brings Davis' RBI total to 15 on the year.

	Braden held the Orioles in check over five innings Friday night, allowing just one earned run in an 11-2 rout. Braden didn't even have to pitch all that well in the contest with the run support he was given. He gave up four hits and a walk, while striking out three. The A's did most of their damage in the eighth inning, when they piled on eight runs to take an 11-2 lead. Braden improves to 5-3 with a 3.72 over 67.2 IP this year.

	Brett Myers continued his hot pitching as of late, throwing eight innings of shut-out ball in a 3-0 win over division foe, the New York Mets. Myers really looked brilliant out on the hill tonight. He gave up just three hits, walked two, and struck out ten. Luis Castillo couldn't figure out Myers, as he went 0-for-3 with three K's. The win was Myers' fourth consecutive, and fifth in his last six starts. Since being called back up from Triple-A, Myers is 6-1 with a 1.55 ERA. Overall, he's 9-10 with a 4.19 ERA.

	Halladay continued his dominance over the American League this year, throwing seven innings, while surrendering three runs -- one earned -- to beat the Rays 6-4. Halladay gave up seven hits, struck out seven and didn't walk a single batter. If there is one team that the Cy Young candidate has had trouble with all year, it's been the Rays. In four starts against Tampa Bay, Hallday is 1-3 with a 4.82 ERA, however, came in tonight, and threw a gem. He's now thrown nine quality starts in a row. Doc Halladay improves to 18-9 with a 2.64 ERA on the year.

	Reyes came out after pitching three innings against the Kansas City Royals on Friday night due to elbow soreness. Reyes, 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA going into the game, walked Alberto Callaspo to start the third inning, then got three straight flyouts. He didn't return for the fourth inning, replaced by Edward Mujica after allowing one hit and one walk. The Indians traded right-hander Luis Perdomo to St. Louis on July 26 to get Reyes, the top pitching prospect in the Cardinals' farm system. Reyes was 2-1 with a 2.01 ERA in five starts since joining the rotation on Aug. 8.

	Halladay pitched seven strong innings against the Rays on Friday for his fifth consecutive win. He allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out seven. The Doc improved to 18-9 with a 2.64 ERA. While Cliff Lee and Francisco Rodriguez are the favorites for the AL Cy Young Award, Halladay at least deserves to be included in the conversation.

	Rios finished 2-for-4 with a two home runs and three RBI Friday night, as the Blue Jays defeated the Rays 6-4. Rios, who hit 24 home runs last season, has sent just 13 flying this year. It's unsure as to why his power fell off so significantly (especially in the first half of the season where he hit just four), however he has stayed solid with his batting average and OBP (.296/.341) and has stolen 30 bags on the year, 13 more than he stole all of last season. After a slow start, Rios has been great since the All-Star break, and has regained keeper status in keeper league formats.

	Isringhausen, twice demoted from the St. Louis Cardinals' closer role last month before landing on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain, will have season-ending surgery next week. When Isringhausen was placed on the DL on Aug. 20 with a partially torn tendon and elbow tendinitis, the Cardinals said he likely would miss the rest of the year. The 35-year-old is scheduled for surgery next Friday.
