	Hansen has been told not to throw for up to four weeks following tests that showed an inflamed nerve in a neck muscle. Hansen has no record and a 5.68 ERA in five games with the Pirates, and he's never lived up to the hype that surrounded him when the Red Sox selected him with a first-round pick in 2005. He has walked 63 in 93 2-3 innings in his career. Hansen went on the disabled list April 25 with neck spasms.

	Lowrie's surgically repaired wrist is doing well as he rehabs at Triple-A Pawtucket, but he has sustained a knee injury after getting hit by a pitch, the Providence Journal reported. Lowrie will sit out Monday and will then be re-evaluated. It's now unclear when he'll return to the majors, especially with the improved performance of Boston shortstop Nick Green.

	Toronto voided its option on Ray and placed him on the 15-day disabled list. Ray was optioned to Triple-A last Friday. Ray is 1-2 with a 4.44 ERA this season for the Blue Jays.

	The Padres placed Hundley (bruised left wrist) on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 18. Hundley, who has started 40 games, is hitting .236 with three home runs and 11 RBIs. It's unclear how long he'll be out.

	The rioles returned Davidson to the Marlins and Florida placed Davidson on the 60-day disabled list with a left shoulder strain. Davidson pitched in one game for the Marlins prior to being dropped, giving up five runs in one inning.

	Jackson took batting practice before Wednesday's game against the Giants but is "not even close" to returning, manager A.J. Hinch said. Jackson has been out since May 12 with pneumonia.

	Phillies have placed left-hander Antonio Bastardo on the 15-day disabled list with a strained shoulder. The team recalled another left-hander, Sergio Escalona, from Triple-A Lehigh Valley before Tuesday night's game in Atlanta. The Phillies announced on Sunday that Bastardo would miss his next start. He had his shoulder examined in Philadelphia on Monday. Bastardo is 2-3 with a 6.75 ERA in five starts and has lost his past three outings. Left-hander Cole Hamels is set to take Bastardo's spot in the rotation on Wednesday.

	McCarthy went on the 15-day disabled list because of a stress fracture in his right shoulder blade. The right-hander was out nearly four weeks because of a similar injury in 2007. McCarthy is tied for his career high and the team lead with five wins.

	Nippert is scheduled to begin a rehab assingnment on Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News. Nippert, who hasn't pitched this season, is on the 60-day disabled list because of a back problem.

	Speier has suffered a setback in his rehab stint, the Denver Post reports. Pain in the back of his shoulder forced the Rockies to shut him down and there's no timetable on when he'll pitch again. Speier is 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA in five appearances this season.

	Reyes, who's been on the 15-day DL for right calf tendinitis since May 21, will rest for two days after sustaining a tear in his right hamstring during an extended spring game on Wednesday in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Mets general manager Omar Minaya said that he wouldn't estimate a time for Reyes' return. "All the tests that he's been given are positive and encouraging," Minaya said.

	Morneau departed from Wednesday's game in the seventh inning with tightness in the left groin. Morneau has been swinging a hot bat lately, and there doesn't seem like too much to worry about here. "It should be good to go by Friday," Morneau said. "We've got a day off tomorrow. We didn't want to make it any worse. I felt like if there was a ball to my right, a play I've got to dive for, I could have made it a lot worse. So it was just better to come out."

	Punto came out after the top of the seventh inning of Minnesota's 5-1 victory over the Royals on Wednesday with tightness in his lower back. The injury is not considered serious for Punto, who is batting .212 in 54 games.

	The Reds placed Lincoln on the 15-day disabled list with a bulging disc in his neck. The 34-year-old Lincoln was 1-1 with an 8.22 ERA in 19 appearances for the Reds this season. He was 2-5 with a 4.48 ERA in 64 games last season, his first after missing three seasons while recovering from ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow. His move to the DL was retroactive to Saturday.

	Ramirez left in the middle of the eighth inning of Wednesday's game with an injured right middle finger. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said his shortstop injured it on Tuesday. Ramirez will sit out Thursday's game in Kansas City and Guillen said it was likely Ramirez will have X-rays. It's a shame considering Ramirez is batting .330 with seven homers and 16 RBIs in his last 23 games.

	The Tigers have placed Willis on the 15-day disabled list with an anxiety disorder. The team plans to recall right-hander Alfredo Figaro from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday to fill Willis' turn in the rotation against the Brewers. Figaro will be making his major league debut. Willis is 1-4 with a 7.49 ERA. He walked eight in 3 2-3 innings in a loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday and has walked 18 in 11 innings over his last three starts.

	Inge sat out Wednesday's game to rest his sore knee. Tigers manager Jim Leyland told the team's official Web site that he thought about playing Inge at DH, but decided against it. Either way, this doesn't sound like anything serious and Inge should be back in the lineup Friday at Minnesota.

	The Detroit Free Press reported that Guillen is doubtful to travel with the team during the Tigers' road trip to Kansas City and Baltimore next week or be activated from the disabled list for shoulder and Achilles’ tendon injuries until next month. Guillen has struggled so far this season, hitting .200 with six RBIs.

	Fox knows his career is in jeopardy after yet another injury to his troublesome right elbow, and he says he's at peace with it. The Chicago Cubs placed the right-handed reliever on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after he hurt his elbow throwing a pitch during the eighth inning of Saturday's loss to Milwaukee. It's the latest in a series of right elbow problems for Fox, who pitched in only 26 major league games in the past five seasons and sat out all of 2006 and 2007 because of injuries to the same elbow.
